TrapLiner Catheter

2-in-1 device — guide extension catheter with trapping capabilities

The TrapLiner Catheter is a rapid exchange guide extension catheter that combines the ability to provide backup support with the ability to trap a 0.014” guidewire. This functionality helps prevent the loss of guidewire position or unintentional guidewire advancement during catheter exchange, and eliminates the need for alternative catheter exchange techniques.

  • Coil reinforced guide extension for flexibility and kink resistance
  • Hydrophilic coating promotes smooth device delivery
  • Hypotube push rod for enhanced pushability
  • Half-pipe channel designed to align devices through the collar transition for smooth device entry

Trapping balloon to maintain guidewire position

  • TrapLiner Catheter balloon is positioned proximal to the half-pipe channel:
    • Inflates to trap a guidewire against the interior wall of the guide catheter
    • Features a gold marker to identify the proximal end of the balloon

Guide extension clinical benefits

Provides coaxial alignment and deep-seating for:

  • Added backup support
  • Distal device delivery
  • Selective contrast delivery

The TrapLiner Catheter is intended for use in conjunction with guide catheters to access discrete regions of the coronary and/or peripheral vasculature, to facilitate placement of interventional devices, and to facilitate the exchange of an interventional device while maintaining the position of a guidewire within the vasculature.
