Clinical and Medical Affairs

About Us

The Clinical and Medical Affairs (CMA) global function at Teleflex is responsible for our clinical, medical, and scientific operations globally. Through research, education, and communication, the CMA team supports the safe and effective use of our products, demonstrating our commitment to patients and the delivery of exceptional healthcare. This commitment continues with our Patient Access and Reimbursement team, which advocates for coverage and access to products. The goals of patient and product safety, as well as the community and charitable programs, demonstrate Teleflex's mission to innovate for better patient outcomes and give back to the communities in which we live and work around the world.

"Our dedicated team of professionals executes on key initiatives that support healthcare providers around the world who deliver essential care. We believe all patients deserve access to innovative technology."

Obtaining robust clinical evidence supporting our products is paramount at Teleflex. Our Global Clinical Operations team is central to the coordination of clinical research activities across the organization. These clinical trials and other research conducted at Teleflex can help shape the standard of patient care.

Our Scientific Communications Team uses clinical evidence to highlight clinical and patient outcomes that reinforce the value proposition of products across the organization. The team facilitates the publication of peer-reviewed literature and conference abstracts and collaborates with Health Care Providers around the world who present clinical research at scientific meetings. The communication of clinical evidence improves market access, facilitates product adoption, and supports reimbursement, ultimately helping to shape the standard of care.

Our global Scientific Affairs team leads our clinical strategy for meeting the Medical Device Regulation in Europe and conducts clinical evaluations, post-market clinical follow-up for our Class III, II and I devices per EU MDR 2017/745.

Teleflex is an advocate for patient, physician, and facility access to our medical devices and procedures. For example, we analyze real-world data on the UroLift® System in order to better understand diverse patient populations, to identify potential health disparities, and to promote patient access and health equity. The Patient Access and Reimbursement team also advocates for greater access to investigational devices through improving our clinical trial diversity, which can help expand our product coverage among these populations. In addition, Teleflex engages in direct advocacy as well as being an active participant in coalitions and trade associations.
